Will Bragunier’s emo rock project Sad Son happened by accident

“I do not think this project would have happened without the lockdown,” he said. “Like everyone else, I had a really rough time with the isolation and uncertainty. I then picked up my guitar again as a way to pass the time. I ended up writing some new songs and dug up some old demos.”
He sent the songs over to guitarist Aneel de Albuquerque and drummer Devin Vaughan, who had just opened up 100 Watt Studios in West Ashley. They invited him in to record and backed him with instrumentation. The self-titled result is six tracks of Fall Out Boy-esque angst, traveling through all the emotions that come with avoiding sleep, drinking to cope, losing the one you love, and questioning the meaning of life.
The EP was released on all streaming platforms on April 5, and there’s more on the horizon.
